Microsoft Team now available for Linux – How to install Microsoft Team on Linux

On 12-10-2019 Microsoft announced the Microsoft Team version for Linux operating systems. Since then, the Team application has been part of the Linux environment and has become one of the leading remote work software in these times of covid-19.

If you have a Linux distribution with a GUI, here is how to install Microsoft Team on your computer.

1. Log on to your computer running Linux and connected to the Internet.

2. Open the browser and open the following page: https://www.microsoft.com/en-ww/microsoft-365/microsoft-teams/download-app

3. Click on « Download for Desktop », select the installation file (.rpm, .deb) compatible with your Linux distribution.

4. Go to the command line and enter the Download folder where the installation file is located.

5. On Debian Linux distributions (and derivatives) such as Linux Ubuntu, run the following command to install it:

sudo dpkg -i install_file_name.deb
